HISTORY
Highway Sterling Western Star Inc is a full service Sterling and Western Star truck dealership, offering a wide selection of Class 3 thru 8 Sterling and Western Star Trucks. Our primary location on Highway 401 in the heart of the Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge Festival Country is uniquely positioned to fulfill all of your sales, parts and service requirements.
Our history begins in October of 1991 as Hallman's Truck Service opened the doors in a small shop on Wanless Court by Dale Hallman. By June 1992, Jeff Cassidy had joined Dale and by August an additional mechanic and one part-time administration staff member had joined the team.
September of that same year saw us move to our present location at 1021 Industrial Rd - Ayr, Ontario, which was much smaller than it is today. Dale and Jeff both worked on the floor as mechanics in the 6 bays...a space now occupied by our Pit Area and Parts Warehouse.
In May of 1994, Hallman's Truck Service evolved once again, becoming a Western Star branded dealership necessitating a name change to H.T.S. Western Star Inc. Naturally, this prompted the need to expand the business to include a show room, front offices and a larger Parts Department. With rapid and continued growth, H.T.S. Western Star required further expansion, and in January 1998, the existing shop was added, bringing the total number of bays to 12 plus.
More exciting changes were soon to follow! In May 2001, H.T.S. Western Star and the Sterling Truck division of Parkway Ford Sales merged, forming what is now known as Highway Sterling Western Star Inc. Bringing both Western Star and Sterling together under one roof also brought in two additional members to the ownership structure, Ken Bast and Mike Stollery. With two excellent teams coming together, Highway Sterling Western Star began to forge a new identity, adapting to the ever changing landscape of the trucking industry.
As we've continued to grow and evolve, so too have our offerings - from the all new Western Star 4700SF & SB, to the fully redesigned Mitsubishi Fuso Canter Line Up, we've got your needs covered. With our additional Parts & Service locations in Port Elgin, ON (Wark Service Center 519 389-8981) and Mitchell, ON (F. Kelly and Sons 519 348-8984) Highway Sterling Western Star wants to be your dealership of choice.
